New features of ZWCAD software, much improved in faster editing actions, TEXT function ,gradient Hatch, image function ,expanded DRX, design center, etc. Below are the details:
1. Performance Improvements
1) Faster editing actions
ZWCAD response to modification commands (such as Copy, Move, Rotate, Mirror, Scale, Array, Wblock, and Copyclip) is considerably faster.
The performance of Copy/Move/Rotate/Mirror/Scale/Array/Wblock/Copyclip has been increased about 100%
2) Reconstruction of the TEXT Function
The text function has been reconstructed using Unicode. Now text displays more accurately, especially when it loads from a different DWG code page.
2. Gradient Hatch
Along with many improvements to hatch function in the 2008 version, ZWCAD2008i goes further by allowing you to make one or two color to do gradient hatch.
3. Image Function with TFW Coordinate File
Now you can align TIFF/TIF images according to a .tfw coordinate file, lining up reference images accurately with the coordinate units of your project.
4. Expanded DRX
An addition to the DRX programming interface in ZWCAD2008, the new Custom Object function makes developing custom applications easier.

1. Performance Improvement
1) Faster processing
ZWCAD 2008 makes great strides in overall performance, especially when opening or saving a drawing, creating hatches with complex boundaries, editing in layout with multiple viewports or selecting a large number of objects. Quicker processing between these actions will make your work more efficient.
· Speed of Open function has been increased about 30%.
· Speed of Save function has been increased about 70%.
· Speed of Select function has been increased about 10 times.
2) Brand New Arithmetic for Hatch Boundary Search
With a more efficient arithmetic applied to searching complex hatch boundaries, you can generate hatch much faster, even with large selections. This feature is also applied to automatically repair boundaries in damaged data. The speed of boundary search is now about 15 times faster.

1) Design Center
Improved Design Center offers you a convenient way to manage the issues of your drawing, such as dimension style, blocks, text style, line types and layers. Just drag and drop, you can apply them from any source drawing to your current drawing. Source drawings can be on your computer or on your local network. In addition, you can also search drawings with drawing name or drawing size. It means that you can use the information of other drawings in current drawing more conveniently.
2) Quick Calculator
The QuickCalc includes basic features similar to most standard mathematical calculators. In addition, QuickCalc has features specific to ZWCAD, such as geometric functions, scientific functions, a Variables area, a Units Conversion area and a Text Calculate area.
Comparing to general calculators, QuickCalc is an expression builder. For greater flexibility, it does not immediately calculate an answer when you click a function. Instead, you compose an expression that you can easily edit it, when you are finished, you click the equal sign (=) or press ENTER. Later, you can retrieve the expression from the History area, modify it, and recalculate the results.
3) Merge Print (mprint)
Mprint offers a new solution for a merge print between several drawings without changing contents via copyclip. Now you can merge several drawings for batch printing just as you would use several viewports in one drawing. Arrange the content by dragging files into position and specifying the desired sizes. If necessary, you can save the configuration for later re-use.
3. Enhanced APIs
1) DRX Support
DRX programming interface (similar to ARX in AutoCAD®) is provided, with the new programming interface, you can develop your own application in another way as you like. It makes migration of ARX application possible.
2) Visuallisp Support
ZWCAD 2008 supports 80% of Visuallisp functions approximately.
3) Encrypt lisp Applications
Encrypt lisp is available to keep authored programs confidential. In ZWCAD 2008, there are two modes for encryption (AES and 3AES). You can not only encrypt several lisp files at one time, but also create backups or use different extensions for the encrypted files.
4. Easy to Use
1) Differentiate Selection Areas with Color
ZWCAD 2008 separates the areas selected or unselected obviously. There is different color display, according to different window selection from right to left or from left to right. It can distinguish selection areas easier.
2) Dynamic Prompt
As a helpful reminder of the options available when using a particular tool, the tip of the cursor tool dynamically displays information after actions are performed. When the action is performed, a list of all possible commands near the cursor. It allows you to choose the next step rather than inputting the command manually.
